positive things

Yesterday was a great day.  I have been feeling kind of down this week, unfamiliar, and a little lonely. But then yesterday I reminded myself of why I was here in the first place – to work really hard, and to impress myself and the pants off of Rainforest Alliance people, and show off all my amazing (ahem, forthcoming) accomplishments. Then I tried to remember the one positive thing about being here alone for the time being – no one is sad that I’m not home yet if I work late (which has been… every night this week).  I should take advantage of this time to concentrate fully on my career.

Yesterday I worked so hard, got caught up on everything, sent progress reports out to supervisors, felt so on top of my game!  Plus my inbox was down to 12 messages (from 278 the day before!) which has never ever happened to me.

Plus I am really looking forward to this weekend; my cousin Ruth and her husband Marc and their two kids will be visiting on Friday in

Amsterdam

. I am also looking forward to scrubbing the heck out of my new apartment, and getting it cozy and feeling like home.  Once the apartment is scrubbed, I'll take pictures, so hopefully I can have some up by Monday or Tuesday.  I’ll also be catching up with an old friend from Peabody Institute who is playing in a youth orchestra about an hour away from here.

And then to top off the great day, Anuj and I finally had the chance to chat for about a half hour on Skype – what an amazing piece of free technology. It’s even physically more comfortable to chat on the phone because the headset rocks. Word on the street is that Skype is considering an IPO…

Why aren't you online pooper? Work is boring with out you, but I am actually getting stuff done =oP
