It snowed in Amsterdam! And not just snowed, it actually stuck to the ground, for the first time. I woke up to seeing white sparkling all over the back yard. When I unlocked my bicycle I had to wipe a whole crust of icy snow off the seat. Many smart commuters in Amsterdam keep a plastic grocery bag wrapped around the seat of their bicycles for just these sorts of occasions – it ensures that the leather saddle isn’t soaking wet when you sit on it. Well, I am not that prepared or forward thinking, so I have no such Wetness Protection Program. I plopped my butt down on the saddle and… squish. Ick. Result? I waddled into my office this morning with a nice wet triangle positioned squarely on my butt. Fantastic. I mean, I try to come across as professional, but this accessory is just not going with my outfit.
Here is a picture of me in my new office! My sister took the picture over a week ago when she walked into the office. She started laughing at the sight of me. Which leads me to think again: maybe that whole looking professional thing is not working out so well for me!

Look at you girl, in your big girl outfit in your big girl office.
I'm so impressed!
(now get back to work)

Hello! Reading from England here, such a nice office, wow! Loving the view out of the window as well; I wish my study at school was that nice.

Your office has a window. I am too jealous for words. I used to have an office with a window, but it overlooked I-95, not a gorgeous European city. At least I was the first to know about traffic jams.

What a view! You can actually see the sky!

I can't believe I'm actually going to admit this but... I miss the snow! Yipes. It never snowed while I lived in Germany (not the kind that actually stays on the ground at least) and now that I'm in Florida? We only get cold wet coldness. Ew.

I don't know how old you are, but I am 27. I still feel like I'm playing dress up when I am professionally dressed. I've never even bought a suit, because honestly, I feel just ridiculous in one! Gladly, being in the artsy fartsy field, we don't dress up too often!
Very jealous of your beautiful window, says the basement apartment dweller!

why do you ALWAYS have the desk right by the window?! it is NOT FAIR.
though i find the wet triangle butt totally hysterical!

your office seems so...calming and professional. mine has white white walls and a big window with a view of a concrete building 5 feet away. blah!
for a minute when I was reading I thought you were gonna post a pic of your wet butt...haha

I love that yellow on the walls and very cool that you have a window. Your desk is all nice and neat. :-)

What a great office. And I think you look very professional (but we can't see your wet butt!)
How exciting about the snow. Just remember to be safe when you're riding your bike (and stay warm)!

Ahh, the squish, I'm sorry, but being from the Pacific NW, I just couldn't help but giggle. The soggy bottom is the worst!

correction, i don't believe that's yellow on the walls, i believe that's "salmon poop" - the most amazing color ever!!
